Why I Built Oxûra

I'm Daniel Voss. I started Oxûra after I got scammed.
Two years ago I heard Gary Brecka talk about molecular hydrogen on a podcast. I went down the rabbit hole — Ohta's 2007 Nature Medicine paper, Tyler LeBaron's research at the Molecular Hydrogen Institute, the 1,500+ peer-reviewed studies, the Lourdes spring discovery in 2002.
I bought a hydrogen water bottle on Amazon. $45. It claimed 3,000 PPB.
I drank it every morning for two weeks. Felt nothing. So I bought hydrogen reagent drops and tested it.
Actual output: under 500 PPB.
I'd been drinking expensive tap water.
I spent the next six months buying every hydrogen bottle I could get my hands on. Seven different brands. I tested each one. Five of them were producing a fraction of what they advertised. Two of them I'm fairly sure were producing chlorine, based on the smell and the reagent reaction.
I called the manufacturers. None of them would share lab reports. None of them had third-party testing. One representative laughed at me. That's why Oxûra exists. This bottle uses PEM/SPE membrane separation — the same technology Echo uses at $300. Platinum-coated electrodes. Third-party verified output at 1,600+ PPB. The report is on this page.
I'm not going to claim Oxûra will cure anything. The FTC would shut me down and I'd deserve it. What I will tell you is what the bottle does: it generates molecular hydrogen, in a verified concentration, in three minutes. What that does inside your body is documented in 1,500+ studies you can read on PubMed yourself. If it doesn't work for you, send it back within 60 days. I'll refund every cent personally.

How Oxûra Works

Most hydrogen bottles are electrolysis chambers in a plastic shell. The chamber is the whole product. Cheap chambers fail in three ways. Ours doesn't.

Read Below
  • 1. PEM/SPE MEMBRANE SEPARATION

Most cheap bottles skip this step.
Without a proton exchange membrane separating hydrogen from oxygen during electrolysis, the bottle can produce chlorine, ozone, and hypochlorous acid instead of clean hydrogen. Echo Water issued a public advisory about this in July 2025. Oxûra uses medical-grade PEM/SPE separation. What comes out is H₂, not byproducts.

  • 2. PLATINUM-COATED ELECTRODES

Cheap electrodes degrade after 3–6 months. The bottle starts producing less hydrogen, then none, but the indicator light keeps glowing. This is the failure pattern behind most "I felt nothing after a month" reviews on Amazon. Oxûra's electrodes are platinum-coated for long-cycle stability. Designed for years of daily use, not months.

  • 3. 1,600+ PPB OUTPUT, VERIFIED

Most hydrogen bottle PPB claims are unverified manufacturer numbers. Amazon reviewers routinely test bottles with reagent drops and find actual output at HALF the advertised level, or less. We sent the Oxûra H2 Pro to a third-party lab. Our verified output: 1,600+ PPB. The report is published below.

TEST RESULTS ,PUBLISHING [JUNE, 2026]

We sent the Oxûra H2 Pro to an independent accredited lab for third-party PPB verification. Results publish on this page the day they come back. If you order before the report posts, your bottle ships with the same testing window as every other unit — and If the published number doesn't meet our 1,500+ PPB target, you get a full refund automatically, no return required. That's the deal. We're not going to ask you to trust us on a number we haven't proven yet.

What's Actually In That $40 Amazon Hydrogen Bottle

There are now over 50 hydrogen water bottles for sale on Amazon, ranging from $29 to $299. They all claim to do the same thing.
They don't.

In May 2025, Hydrogen Water Labs published a report on the cheap-bottle category. They documented:

→ Bottles producing measurable chlorine and ozone instead of hydrogen — because they lack PEM/SPE membrane separation
→ "Star of stench" mold-trap designs in the membrane chamber that cannot be cleaned

→ PPB claims of 3,000–5,000 that tested at 200–600 PPB in practice

→ Electrodes that degrade in 90 days, then keep glowing as if they still work
Echo Water , a $300+ competitor , issued a public advisory in July 2025 confirming the same: without proper PEM separation, the bottle's electrolysis process can generate "chlorine, ozone, hypochlorous acid, or heavy metal hydroxides."
You are not buying a generic product category. You are buying a specific piece of medical-grade electrochemical hardware. The $40 bottle and the $149 bottle are not the same thing wearing different paint. They are different machines doing different things, and one of them might be making your water worse.

"Isn't hydrogen water just another wellness fad like alkaline water?"

No — and the comparison matters. Alkaline water was based on a misunderstanding of pH biology: your body regulates blood pH at 7.35–7.45 regardless of what you drink. The alkaline pH claim never had scientific backing.
Molecular hydrogen is different. It has a documented mechanism (selective neutralization of hydroxyl radicals and peroxynitrite), 1,500+ peer-reviewed studies, a foundational paper in Nature Medicine (Ohta et al., 2007), and 170+ studied disease models. Japanese hospitals use hydrogen-saline IV in clinical settings. It's research-stage science, not fringe.
Tyler LeBaron, who runs the Molecular Hydrogen Institute, has stated that the modest benefits some alkaline water users reported were likely from trace hydrogen those ionizers produced as a side effect — not from pH.

"Won't the hydrogen escape before I drink it?"

In an open glass after 30+ minutes — yes. From a sealed bottle consumed within 10 minutes of generation — no.Per peer-reviewed pharmacokinetic data, peak plasma hydrogen concentration occurs at 15–30 minutes after consumption on an empty stomach. H₂ diffuses through the gastric lining into the bloodstream within 5–10 minutes and crosses the blood-brain barrier in under five. The bottle is designed to be used the way it works: generate, drink within ten minutes, ideally before food.

"Doesn't stomach acid destroy it?"

No. Molecular hydrogen (H₂) is a non-polar, neutral molecule — chemically inert in HCl. Unlike vitamin C or probiotics, it doesn't react with stomach acid. It diffuses directly through the gastric and intestinal lining into the bloodstream. This is documented in Ohta's 2007 paper and subsequent pharmacokinetic studies (Ohta, 2014).

"Why $149 when Amazon has hydrogen bottles for $40?"

Because the $40 bottle and the $149 bottle are not the same machine.
Most cheap bottles lack PEM/SPE membrane separation. Without it, electrolysis can produce chlorine, ozone, hypochlorous acid, and heavy metal hydroxides — not clean hydrogen. This is documented by Echo Water's July 2025 public advisory and the Hydrogen Water Labs May 2025 report.
Most cheap bottles also publish unverified PPB claims. Amazon reviewers regularly test them with reagent drops and find actual output at a fraction of what's advertised.
The Oxûra H2 Pro has third-party verified output at 1,600+ PPB, medical-grade PEM/SPE separation, and platinum-coated electrodes built for years of daily use. The test report is on this page. The cheap bottles don't have one.
